 In the news and politics today there is a large focus on Healthcare and Medical systems.  There have been many advancements and innovations in these fields that have not only improved the quality of life for many but also saved the lives of countless human beings.  As these medical technologies advance we as a society are affected either directly or indirectly in a plethora of ways.  In this WebQuest you will investigate a Technological Advancement in the Medical Field and the impact it has had on the world as we know it today.

 Your task is to research a technological innovation or advancement in the medical field and describe how that advancement has effected society today.  This includes everything from instruments and equipment used inside a hospital or doctors office to artificial joints!

 You will be required to: ◦ Describe a brief history of the Medical Technology innovation or advancement including who developed it and when it was first used. ◦ Explain what it is and how the innovation or advancement works, where it is commonly seen, and what it is used for. ◦ Price out the cost of your innovation or advancement. ◦ Evaluate how the innovation or advancement has impacted the world as we know it today. ◦ Compile this information in electronic format to be handed into the instructor. ◦ Present your Medical Technology innovation or advancement to the class.

 In this WebQuest you will be required to visit all of the links provided in your search for Medical Technology innovations and advancements.  You are also highly encouraged to utilize the provided search engines to uncover more information about your chosen upgrades.  You will compile this information into an electronic document (.ppt,.pdf or.doc) and present one of your Medical Technology innovation or advancement to the class.
