Media Literacy For The Classroom This Ain’t Your Daddy’s Media Course

What Our Manual Contains Units based on Journalism and Film Lesson plans that cover three main domains ◦Visual ◦Audio ◦Textual Resources we have developed to aid in teaching these units

General Media Curriculum Outcomes Visual 1.Students will be expected to use images and video to clarify and reflect on their thoughts, feelings and ideas. 2.Students will be expected to use images and video in a way that is appropriate to different audiences and situations. 3.Students will be expected to create visual media to express their thoughts and feelings to an audience.

Continued… Audio 4. Students will be expected to create content that is expressive and rhetorically appropriate for the audience. 5. Students will be expected to use their voice to express their thoughts, feelings and ideas. 6. Students will be expected to use audio to enhance other forms of media such as videos and images.

Students will be expected to interpret information presented in textual form and respond personally to it. 9. Students will be expected to communicate information and ideas effectively and appropriately to an audience. 10.
