EU 1000i and EU 2000i SECTION: Tools and Equipment ISSUED: REVISED: ##-####

Objectives To provide an understanding of the following –Specifications –Use –Maintenance –Safety

EU-1000i

Specifications Engine –4 Stroke –1 Cylinder –5,500 rpm –Forced Air Cooling –2.1 Liter Fuel Capacity –0.25 Liter Oil SAE 10W-30 –Spark Plug CR5HSB (NGK) U16FSR-UB (NIPPONDENSO) Generator (AC Output) –Rated Voltage of 120 Volts –Rated Frequency of 60 Hz –Rated Amperage of 7.5 Amps –Rated Output of 900 Volt Amps –Maximum Output of 1000 Volt Amps Generator (DC Output) –Only charges 12 Volt Auto Batteries –Maximum output of 8 Amps

EU-2000i

Specifications Engine –4 Stroke –1 Cylinder –4,300 – 5,000 rpm –Forced Air Cooling –3.6 Liter Fuel Capacity –0.4 Liter Oil SAE 10W-30) –Spark Plug CR5HSB (NGK) AC Output –Rated Voltage of 120 Volts –Rated Frequency of 60 Hz –Rated Amperage of 13.3 Amps –Rated Output of 1,600 Volt Amps –Maximum Output of 2,000 Volt Amps DC Output –Only charges 12 Volt Auto Batteries –Maximum output of 8 Amps

Use Provides lighting during incidents To provide a power source for equipment

Starting Procedure Turn on valve cap vent Switch fuel to on position Choke should be in the closed position Pull starter grip briskly –Do NOT allow cord to snap back Once engine starts to run, open choke

Maintenance Clean, refuel, and check oil and air filter after each use Mondays –Check fluids for proper levels –Check air filter –Check overall condition –Run engine with the light on to ensure proper operation Storage –Ensure fuel tank is full –Ensure choke is closed –Ensure fuel switch is turned off –Ensure fuel vent cap is turned off –Ensure flood light turned off

Maintenance Annual service –Engine Oil –Air Filter –Spark Plug –Fuel Filter

Safety If the load placed on unit exceeds its maximum output the unit will automatically shut down to avoid damage –In the event this happens let the unit sit for a few minutes, re-evaluate the load and restart While in operation keep light on to maintain visibility when necessary Try to avoid use in enclosed areas –Monitor air quality for CO build up if used in enclosed area Avoid running electrical cords down walk ways
