Aims and Objectives raising our schoolmates’ interest and clearing out their fears in Astronomy give more information about the new discoveries and achievements in Astronomy provide a further understanding of Astronomy and an opportunity for students to share their experiences.

Year Plan Newsletters ~Two volumes of newsletters will be published. One will be distributed to classes in October. Another one will be issued in February and distributed to all members free of charge. Quiz ~ An inter-class Astronomy quiz for F.1 to F.4 students will be held in November. Students who perform well in the quiz will be selected as school representatives to participate in the Astronomy Quiz held by the Space Museum in January. We will provide training courses to the representatives to prepare them for the quiz.

Year Plan Lectures ~ Internal lectures will be held once or twice a month. ~Two to Three joint-school lectures will also be held this year. We will invite public lecturers from famous Astronomy groups to give lectures on schoolmates’ favorite topics in Astronomy.

Year Plan Video Shows ~Videos on space exploration, solar system and history of the universe will be shown on regular basis. Slide Shows ~Slides on various branches of Astronomy such as Mythology of the constellations, star observation techniques and deep sky objects will be shown to schoolmates as a companion for the lectures.

Year Plan Visits ~Joint school visit to the Ho Koon Nature Education Centre will be organised. This will be an invaluable chance for our schoolmates to see the largest privately owned astronomical telescope in Southeast Asia. ~Another visit to The Hong Kong Observatory or to see the telescope in the Chinese University or the University of Hong Kong will also be organised.

Year Plan Star Observation Trips ~Some internal and joint school non-overnight star observation trips will be organised. We will lead schoolmates to some popular star observation sites to watch the night sky. This will be a good opportunity for our schoolmates to put into practice on what they have learned in the lectures about observing the stars and familiarise themselves with the wonderful night sky.

Year Plan Star Observation Camps ~ Two star observation camps will be held this year. One will be after Lunar New Year around February and the other one will be held in the summer. It will give opportunity schoolmates to learn theories, practice observation skills and share experiences with others.
