 When the first wheel was created people didn’t know WHAT it was until they saw it on carriages and as pottery wheels. Today lots of people usually think that wheels are not that important. Before wheels were created people used to use camels and horses to get around. The wheel of Mesopotamia was the first wheel to be found. It was made of wood and much thinner than the wheels we have today. Into….. From:

This picture shows you HOW the wheel was made. When the wheel was made cars weren't invented yet so instead they used wheels to get stuff around and for carriages to get people around.

 Historians and architects are still unsure of WHO created the first wheel. the oldest wheel found by archeologists was discovered in what was Mesopotamia and is believed to be over fifty-five hundred years old. Credit is given to the ancient Mesopotamian culture. In about 3500 B.C. This is where the oldest known wheel has ever been found. But it is believed to have been invented much earlier

 With the wheel, inventions such as water wheels, cars, clocks and planes where all made. Based on diagrams on ancient clay tablets, the first use of this invention was a potter’s wheel that was used in Mesopotamia (part of modern day Iraq) as early as 3500 BC. The first use of the wheel for transportation was probably on Mesopotamian chariots in 3200 BC. Wheels first appeared on Egyptian chariots around 2000 BC, and wheels seem to have developed in Europe by 1400 BC without any influence from the Middle East.

 The first wheel was created in about 3500 B.C. As what was written in the previous slide historians weren't sure who created the wheel. Although we do know that it was first created in ancient Egypt.

 The reason the wheel was created was to get things and people around faster. There once came a point where a wise person made a pottery wheel to make pottery making easier. When things started to get too heavy to carry around, a person decided to invent the wheel. After people started using the wheel for carrying stuff they realized they can also use them for carriages to help horses.
