The large land areas are called continents. There are seven continents.

North America

North America is the worlds third largest continent. It is located in the western hemisphere. Which 3 oceans border it? Where is Central America?

South America

South America is located in the western hemisphere. It is connected to North America through Central America. It is the fourth largest continent.

Asia

Asia is the world’s largest continent. It is home to 2/3 of the world’s population.

Australia

Australia is the only country that is an entire continent. Australia is home to the worlds largest coral reef.

How many do we still have left?

Europe

Europe is the second smallest continent in land area. Europe and Asia actually share the same land mass.

Africa

At almost three times the size of the United States, Africa is the second largest continent.

Antarctica

Antarctica is the coldest, driest, and windiest continent on earth. About 98% of the continent is covered in ice.

Oceans are the largest areas of water on the earth. There are four oceans.
