From Lyon to New york Hector Guimard was born in Lyon on March 10th 1867 and died in New York on May 20th, 1942.

STUDIES In 1885 Guimard began studying at the École Nationale et Speciale des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He was then admitted to the first year at École Nationale des Beaux-Arts in Later, in 1890, he was awarded a silver metal for "modelled ornament" at Ecole des Beaux-Arts.

Harmony and continuity He developped his own form of Art Nouveau, especially devoted to the ideal of harmony and continuity.
