9 Proposed Goals of 2006 UBU/UBO/TPOCS/MSA/CCE Conference UBU 1. Improve outpatient professional coding accuracy to 90% or better based on TMA audits. 2. Improve inpatient professional coding accuracy to 90% or better based on TMA audits. 3. Ensure staff are trained to be able to instruct providers to accurately document all encounters. 4. Ensure all inpatient institutional coding accuracy is 90% or better. 5. Ensure all outpatient institutional coding accuracy is 90% or better. 6. Ensure all intermediate commands have trained personnel who can answer coding questions. 7. Ensure all Services have trained personnel who can correctly answer coding questions in a reasonable (e.g., fewer than 5 duty days) amount of time.

10 Proposed Goals of 2006 UBU/UBO/TPOCS/MSA/CCE Conference UBO 1. Give the MTFs the tools necessary to meet or exceed the TPC Collection Goals established by TMA. This does not mean to provide the resources necessary, that is a Service requirement. 2. Ensure all possible MSA collections are collected. 3. Ensure correct processing and collection of all funds due to the MHS from the MAC program. TPOCS 1. Ensure all MTFs have at least one on-site individual able to instruct others in all aspects of the TPOCS system to make sure billing, accounts receivable, and collections are done in the most efficient and cost effective manner possible.

11 Proposed Goals of 2006 UBU/UBO/TPOCS/MSA/CCE Conference MSA 1. Ensure all MTFs have at least one on-site individual able to instruct others in all aspects of the MSA system to make sure billing, accounts receivable, and collections are done in the most efficient and cost effective manner possible. 2. Ensure all MTFs have at least one on-site individual able to instruct others in the importance of and the assigning of PATCATs. CCE 1. Ensure all MTFs have at least one on-site individual able to instruct others in all aspects of the CCE system to make sure all coding (institutional and professional, in all MEPRS) is accurate and done in the most efficient and cost effective manner possible. 2. Ensure all MTFs use errors found using the CCE for auditing to develop site specific training. Ensure all MTFs identify recurring errors and high risk errors to intermediate commands and to Service level for centrally developed training, such as to target classes to be offered at the Conference.
