 Labor day is supposed to honor the workers of America. It was designed to show respect and tribute for those who maintained the nation

 Labor Day is celebrated in September because President Cleveland wanted to keep it separate from other events such as the Haymarket affair. September is thought of being the end of summer and is the last summer holiday.
