Major Steps in a Source Protection plan  Delineate Protection Zones Based on hydrogeologic and construction data for wells and springs Focus for further source protection activities  Inventory of potential contamination sources  Management programs for existing PCSs and for future PCSs

Data Availability and Security  Source Protection information must be available to local planners and decision- makers.  Location of public water sources and protection zones is considered sensitive.  Public information, but not openly available on the Internet.  Apply for access as required by GRAMA.

Remember:  All water system numbers begin with: “UTAH”, followed by 5 numeric digits  Advanced searches are enabled if you forget your water system number  You’ll need an account  Remember the web site by posting it on your “favorites” list

In the near future:  Look for a tri-fold mailer of instructions  Local Health Departments have access  RWAU Circuit Riders have access  Select third parties have access  “Access” means access to every system’s data  You may have questions about your water system’s information
