 Review project documents (food and NFI) to have clear understanding with program and its approach  Assess accountability mechanisms/systems and expertise that already exist within the organization  Conduct a meeting with programs senior management and program staff to explain scope of deployment, their expectations with our deployment, expected accountability system and cultural sensitivity Review program document and asses systems Meet with the responding organization staff Outline Activities

Activities cont ……. Design and conduct training/orientation to the program staff to explain in brief what accountability systems and practices will be established for sensitization and ownership purposes. Conduct community meetings before initiating program interventions e.g. clarify what are project activities, ration entitlements, introduce organization profile and code of conduct Train program staff on accountability Conduct community meetings

Activities cont….. Continuous consultation with communities at each step of program implementation to ensure their participation and ownership Setting up feedback mechanism (based on technology and acceptance available) Community awareness meetings and distribution of communication materials for accountability mechanisms (complaint boxes, poster, banners) Suggestion box for complaints collection Community Help desks

Activities cont….. Conduct data analysis and divert feedback and complaint to concerned sectors/staff Follow up if feedback is incorporated in informing project decisions Develop mechanisms to ensure that the communities receive a response on their complaints and feedback at least within three days Analyze feedback data Ensure feedback and complaints are acted on

Indicators % of communities reported that they received information well before implementation/distribution of food and NFI # of male and female actively participating in consultative meetings # of male and female consulted in decision making raging program interventions implementations # of program staff trained/oriented on accountability systems/mechanism established Well consulted community Community participating in decision making
