NATURE-SDIplus Training Framework Co-funded by the Community Programme eContentplus ECP-2007-GEO

Training The NATURE-SDIplus Training Framework has been designed with the aim to allow the acquisition of the required background knowledge for operating on the different topics addressed by the project and to provide training material about the results of the project. Both technical and nature conservation aspects are covered. Training for who? NATURE-SDIplus Training is generally addressed to the operators in Geographical Information and Nature Conservation Data Management, dealing with INSPIRE and its implementation. TRAINING FRAMEWORK 2

Training The Training Framework includes: The NATURE-SDIplus Training Package, describing the structure of the training offer, organised in different levels; The Training material organised in modules, as indicated in the NATURE-SDIplus Training Package and hosted in different e-learning platforms and tools; The e-Learning platform, representing the infrastructure that hosts the training material. Training 10

Training NATURE-SDIplus TRAINING FRAMEWORK AND TRAINING ON INSPIRE/SDI  Different surveys on user needs for data management and SDIs, carried out in the framework of European initiatives (e.g. Leonardo da Vinci, eContentplus, ICT- PSP projects), have individuated a great request of specific skills and training, by stakeholders and subjects involved in the INSPIRE “revolution”  NATURE-SDIplus Training Framework is then included in a more general training infrastructure to support EU Policies on GI (and INSPIRE), with an integrated approach  Liaison with CEN TC/287 has been activated to make use and exploit the Training Framework infrastructure 11

EU Policies and Training: an integrated approach for supporting interoperability 12

Training The Training Framework is a flexible tool, very suitable to define Training Paths, customised according to different target audiences, by selecting all or a subset of the modules included in the Framework and organize Training Actions. Possibility to build learning paths by using modules developed within different contexts (projects) or already existing courses Grouping users (classroom) to organize structured distance learning actions with a specific time table, also with the support of a discussion forum Organisation of workshops or teleconferences to present the training actions and assess the results LEARNING PATHS AND TRAINING ACTIONS 13
