11 th Year Teaching GV MS World Language Department Chair Teach 2 French 1 classes and 4 French Intro classes

 Students use textbooks in class only.  Workbook may be purchased for $15— not mandatory to purchase.  Note: If workbooks are borrowed and become damaged, the full price of the workbook will be owed to GVMS by the end of the ‘15-’16 school year.

Review of 7 th grade French Survey material  Chapitre 1: School  Chapitre 2: Likes/Dislikes  Chapitre 3: Describing People  Chapitre 4: Daily Routine  Chapitre 5: Leisure Activities  Chapitre 6: Food and restaurant  Chapitre 7: Clothing

Each thematic unit will end with a written test which will contain questions in various formats, including multiple choice, matching, and fill-in-the-blank. There will also be a listening comprehension section and an essay. Each thematic unit will also contain several formative assessments (quizzes, “ticket out”, collected HW). Other assessments will occur either during or after completion of every few chapters to review material. These assessments are usually in the form of a small project or class activity. The World Language Department has a weighted grade book with the following categories: -70% quizzes & tests -20% projects -10% other (graded HW/Classwork) There is no extra credit. If a student wishes to re-take a section of a quiz or test, the window of opportunity is two weeks from the date the test was given.
