HICKS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL NEW FACULTY MEMBERS

KIM SAGER- KINDERGARTEN TEACHER Kim Sager will be joining the Kindergarten team in the Fall. Kim is a “Ragin’ Cajun” from the University of Louisiana where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Teaching. Kim taught 1 st grade in Plano ISD, served as the Director of Preschool Operations at Celebration Pre School in Frisco, and joined the Hicks Team last year in the Special Education Department. Kim brings extensive early childhood experience to our school and will excel in her new role as teacher.

LINH MCIVER- 2 ND DUAL LANGUAGE (ENGLISH) Linh McIver will join our 2 nd grade team as the English Teacher in Dual Language. Linh has been teaching at Parkway Elementary in Lewisville ISD as a 3 rd grade Dual Language Teacher. She is an expert teacher, very student- centered, and very positive. We are very excited to have her enthusiasm and knowledge of Dual Language programs at Hicks.

TEVYAN GROMMESH- LIBRARIAN Tevyan Grommesh will be our new Librarian at Hicks. Tevyan earned her B.S. in Mathematics and M.S. in Library Science from Texas Women’s University. Tevyan has taught math in various private schools and at the College level. Tevyan is an expert in instructional technology, is highly motivated, and exceedingly organized. She will no doubt add tremendous value instructionally to our incredible faculty.

BROOKE STENSON- COUNSELOR Congratulations to one of our own, Brooke Stenson, who will join the office team as Counselor at Hicks. Brooke graduated with a B.S. in Psychology from Texas Women’s University, and then she earned a M.S. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of North Texas. Brooke recently completed her counseling certificate while serving as the 2 nd grade team leader at Hicks. Brooke brings tremendous knowledge and love of our Hicks kids to her new role as Counselor.

LAUREL GRABE- SPECIAL EDUCATION Laurel Grabe will be teaching our AVLS/ALS Classroom next year. Laurel earned her B.S. in Elementary Education from Plymouth State College in New Hampshire, then she earned her Master of Education in Special Education from Grand Canyon University in Arizona. Laurel has taught general education Kindergarten, 1 st, and 2 nd grades in Minnesota, Michigan, Florida, and now in Texas. She joins us from Bridlewood Elementary in LISD.

MARTA VENEGAS- 4 TH GRADE Congratulations to Marta Venegas, new 4 th Grade Teacher at Hicks. Marta will be joining Mrs. Divin and Mrs. Klima’s team and will teach math and writing to her homeroom. Marta is a recent graduate from Oklahoma Baptist University where she graduated Magna Cum Laude and played soccer. Marta is originally from Frisco and will be a fantastic addition to our 4 th grade team.
