“The most common way to add text to a slide is to type it directly into a placeholder on the slide” (gethelp library, 2012).

However, if you are using a blank slide with no placeholders, you can use a text box. Click on the Insert Menu, then on the Text Box icon on the drawing toolbar. Click and hold down the left mouse button while you drag the mouse. Release the button when the text box is the desired size. Click inside the text box and start typing.

In the WordArt Styles group, click the More drop-down arrow to view the list of available styles. Select the style you wish to apply to your text.
