Streaming Video Accessing Discovery Education & Downloading from the Open Web Sutherland Pro-D Kevin J. Benoy

Discovery Education Sutherland has a subscription to this service. It has over 9,000 full length videos that can be streamed or downloaded in whole or in parts. In addition, there are thousands of images and other education resources, including worksheets.

Discovery Education Existing users type in their username and password, then use the search engine inside the site. Click on the Passcode/New User tab if you haven’t established a username and password. Type in 3FBF –2BD2 and this will bring you to the registration page. Complete the registration and you have full access to the site.

Using RealPlayer to Download from Youtube or GoogleVideo Millions of videos are being uploaded to Youtube and GoogleVideo but often they disappear as quickly as they show up. If you have a newish version of RealPlayer on a computer, you can download these videos and save them on your hard drive. RealPlayer is a free download; just go to This is a free download and there is no need to upgrade to their RealPlayer Plus version.

Using RealPlayer to Download from Youtube or GoogleVideo The video will automatically be saved and placed in your RealPlayer library. This is usually found in C:\Documents and Settings\Admin\My Documents\My Videos\RealPlayer Downloads. Find videos you want through a Google search or a Youtube search, move your curser to the top right hand corner of the video box and click on.

Using RealPlayer to Download from Youtube or GoogleVideo Find the file in your RealPlayer library. Copy the file onto a memory stick and transfer it to your tablet computer for use in class.
