Standardisation activities n New Working Group under the SP18 Committee covering alarm system management and design. Volunteers required (working knowledge of EEMUA 191 would be and advantage!).

Standardisation activities n Encourage SP committees participation u How do we do this? 1) Find your area of interest from the standards committees list on 2) Submit a request to join the committee from the contact stated. IT IS THAT EASY!

Standardisation activities n Encourage SP committees participation u Participation of District 12 members will help the ISA development of global standards and will reflect the influence that the countries in District 12 have in the global instrumentation community. u Campaign through Local Section newsletters to highlight how easy it is to get involved and to explain the advantages of District 12 involvement.

Standardisation activities n Promote ISA Standards u Key supplier of ISA Standards in the UK sold only 65 ISA Standards during Sales over the last years were very low (Source: American Technical Publishers Ltd) u RTP informs that 20% of sales are outside of North America and Europe accounts for 9-10% of sales. (Source: Lois Ferson ISA RTP)

Standardisation activities n Promote ISA Standards u Why is usage low? F International Standards IEC, ISO. F Local Standards BSEN, NF, DIN, CENELEC F Language

Standardisation activities n Promote ISA Standards u Identify the gaps in National and International Standards and develop the relevant ISA Standard to fill it e.g S20 Instrument Data Sheets, S5 Series for documentation and symbology etc u Where no ISA Standard exists, prepare a “New Standards Project Proposal”
