Interoperability Issues Data Format Interoperability: ability of an application to exchange data by means of a common format or via mappings Process Interoperability: ability of a process to make "visible" the requested and the offered services/interfaces Distributed inconsistent data: ability of a solution to guarantee distributed data consistency in a virtual enterprise context

Interoperability Issues (2) Business Processes “hardcoded” in applications: improvement of application deployment in terms of “Time to Market” and code reuse level Applications focus on transactions, not on business processes: usage of graphical tools to process management in a virtual enterprise context
