PREPARING YOU TO DRESS FOR SUCCESS Business Attire for the 9 th Grade Speech

For Boys: For Girls: A blazer, sport coat, or suit A collared dress shirt and tie Leather dress shoes and belt A skirt of appropriate length or dress slacks of appropriate fit A blazer or sweater Shoes that are either flat or have a low heel What is Business Attire? For All: Neat hair, Nothing distracting or flashy

Preparing for Adult Life We want you to impress everyone around you, not only with your speaking abilities but also with your appearance. Different clothes are appropriate for different circumstances. Why is Business Attire important?

Dress for the Occasion Consider Jeremy Lin’s attire for his Harvard yearbook picture, or Angelina Jolie’s attire as a UN Goodwill Ambassador.

To paraphrase Coco Chanel: “Dress shabbily, they notice the clothes. Dress impeccably, they notice the person.” Consider your aspirations and roll models. What do you want to be when you grow up? What would you wear to meet an important world leader, or to an interview?
