In a typical day, flute tutors help their students perfect new skills on the flute. Some days, they may go on trips to take their students to examinations and competitions.

To be a flute teacher/tutor, it usually takes 2-4 years after high school. If you played flute in school for a school band or had a tutor as a child, it will most likely take less time.

YearSalary AmountPercent ProportionAmount of 3% increaseBeginning Salary for next year 0 $43, $1,290$44,290 1 $44, $1,328.70$45, $1,368.56$ $46, $1,409.62$48, $1,451.91$49, $1,495.46$51, $1,540.33$52, $1,586.54$54, $54, $1,634.13$56, $1,683.16$57, $57,788.41

On average, flute tutors and teachers make $43,000 per year.

All it really takes to be a flute tutor is to be able to play the flute. It will take patience and the ability to work with others, though.

I think there will always be a need for this job. The need will probably increase (in my opinion), as there are less and less people these days to meet the qualifications.

 To instruct students individually & in groups through lecture and demonstration  Sometimes go on trips to take students to examinations, performances, and competitions

 To monitor students’ performance and help them to perfect their skills
