Regular school attendance is essential for a student to make the most of his or her education to benefit from teacher-led and school activities, to build each day’s learning on the previous day’s, to grow as an individual. Regular school attendance
State law requires that a student between the ages of 6 and 19 attend school Students may be issued a warning letter at 19 years of age and their enrollment revoked Compulsory Attendance
When a student is absent from school, the student—upon arrival or return to school—must bring a note signed by the parent that describes the reason for the absence. A total of 5 parent notes are allowed per semester. A student, after being absent, must return with a note excusing the absences(s) within three school days or the absence excuse will not be accepted. To receive credit or a final grade in a class, a student in 9 th -grade 12 must attend at least 90 percent of the days the class is offered. Receiving Credit
A court of law may also impose penalties against both the student and his or her parents if a school-aged student is deliberately not attending school. A complaint against the parent may be filed in court if the student: Is absent from school on ten or more days or parts of days within a six-month period in the same school year, or Is absent on three or more days or parts of days within a four-week period. If a student age 12 through age 19 violates the compulsory attendance law, both the parent and student could be fined in civil court. Failure to Comply with Compulsory Attendance

If you were in court last year and given probation Municipal court judges will see attendance from last year as well as ECL notes and may issue a fine
