- Get personal and send them a hand written letter - Staffs love to be appreciated Step 1: Write to them

- It does wonders for staff attitudes when a manager really cares Step 2: Take a genuine interest in their future career path

- Be understand about their family, commitments, doctors, appointments and so on - Small gesture often makes a big difference Step 3: Take a genuine interest in their work life balance

- This is an easy one: just listen thoughtfully to staffs’ ideas for job improvement for example - Intelligent listening is an integral part of the job and people appreciate being heard Step 4: Listen

- Still as valid to day as it was a few thousand years ago - It shows you respect your employees as individuals and for the job they do Step 5 : Do unto others as you would have done unto you
