Leaders of the Tang Dynasty Tang Dynasty- Li Yuan, also called Emperor Gaozu, was the founder and first emperor. Li Shimin, also called Taizong, was the son of Li Yuan. He expanded the empire and was viscous. (Killed his own brothers) Built a new legal code. Li Zhu, also known as Emperor Aidi. Ascended throne at age 13. Li ShiminLi Yuan
