LETTER FROM BIRMINGHAM JAIL.. LIANA AND NAWAB

Introduction Background of Martin Luther King Jr. Injustice and racial segregation between the 1950s and early 60s

MAIN POINTS HIS GOAL WAS TO ACHIEVE RACIAL EQUALITY AND A UNITED BROTHERHOOD. CLERGYMEN ACCUSED HIM OF ; TENSION EXTREMISM UNTIMELY PROTESTS

IMPORTANT QUOTES “JUSTICE TOO LONG DELAYED IS JUSTICE DENIED”

“SO THE QUESTION IS NOT WHETHER WE WILL BE EXTREMISTS BUT WHAT KIND OF EXTREMISTS WE WILL BE. WILL WE BE EXTREMISTS FOR LOVE OR FOR HATE? WILL WE BE EXTREMISTS FOR THE PRESERVATION OF JUSTICE OE EXTREMISTS FOR THE CAUSE OF JUSTICE?”

We must see the need for nonviolent gadflies to create the kind of tension in society that will help men rise from the dark depths of prejudice and racism to majestic heights of understanding and brotherhood.”

We must use time creatively in the knowledge that time will inevitably cure all ills. Actually time is neutral. It can be used either destructively or constructively.

Thank You for your patience… Happy spring break!!
