iSchool Research How to Approach Someone Talk with your professors - visit during office hours. They’re lonely! Meet with your advisor. Change advisors. Help with a research project: –Volunteer –Get credit as an independent study –Find out if they have funding for a part-time job. They might! Hang out in the iSchool reception area

iSchool Research Doing an Independent Study Take a project you’ve worked on for a class and expand on it Look at what faculty members are already doing and expand on it Think about a problem you see and try to solve it Use the faculty advisor to help develop the independent study Ask Marie to review it
