 It is important to remember…  Triangles can be classified 2 ways; by their Angle Measures or by their side lengths.

 Remember if you ever have trouble reading a picture ask about it! Especially on the test.  If you are unsure what angle something is pointing to, ask about it.

 What are the three triangles in the picture?  Classify each triangle by angle measures

 When you look at a figure, you cannot assume segments are congruent based on appearance.  They must be marked as congruent either with numbers or tic marks.

EG = EF + FG EG = EG = 14

JL = 5 (8.5) + 2 = 44.5 JK = 4 (8.5) – 10.7 = 23.3 KL = 2 (8.5) = 23.3 Therefore… Isosceles Triangle

Therefore… Equilateral Triangle
