What is unicef? United Nations Children’s Emergency Fund Founded in 1946 Sustained completely by voluntary contributions Operating in 150 countries

What is Unicef? UNICEF is the driving force that helps build a world where the rights of every child are realized. UNICEF has global authority to influence decision makers, and the variety of partners at grassroots levels to turn innovative ideas into reality, which makes UNICEF unique.

Missions Give children the best start in life Promote girls education Immunization against common childhood diseases and provide nourishment for impoverished children. Help prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS among young people Create protective environments for children Uphold the Convention on the Rights of the Child and are a part of the Global Movement for Children.

More to be done Despite progress, 24,000 children die each day from preventable causes. Many are malnourished, don’t have access to basic needs, and need education to achieve higher status in life.

U.S. Fund Supports UNICEF’s work through: fundraising advocacy education Goal: to provide children with health care, clean water, nutrition, education, protection, emergency relief, and more.

Campus initiative Campus Initiative is a growing grassroots movement rooted in the belief that college students have a vital role to play in helping the world’s children survive. Conduct campus-wide advocacy, education, and fundraising.
