Title BEAT FOR RESINT PROJECT RESINT - Project General Meeting Bologna/Forlì 20th-21st May 2015 Silvio Olivastri with Luca Ferrari, Silvia Mirri, Paola Salomoni

Page 1 LEARNING OBJECT A Learning Object (LO) includes all entities, digital or non-digital, that may be used to learn, educate or train. In this context we can just say it is a digital content. LOs important features: - self-consistent (can independently work) - interoperable (can work on differents platforms) - reusable (can be modified and reused by other authors and/or in other contexts) RESINT - Project General Meeting Bologna/Forlì 20th-21st May 2015 Silvio Olivastri

Page 2 TOOL Creating a LO can be a not so easy operation, specially if the author has got a basic knowledge of specific Web based programming languages and technologies (e.g. HTML, CSS, JavaScript). Hence, we have chosen a Web platform that lets to create LOs in an easy, quick and independent way: BEAT (Bologna E-learning Authoring Tool). We have adapted this platform to make it usable and suitable for the RESINT project. We have also added a personalized theme and new structures. Page 3 BEAT FOR RESINT The main interface is depicted below: RESINT - Project General Meeting Bologna/Forlì 20th-21st May 2015 Silvio Olivastri

Page 4 GOAL The primary goal is to support the author in the creation of open and compatible content with the most important and commonly used open source platforms. We have done it by exploiting the main standards in the e-learning field. This is the starting point for creating a MOOC (Massive Open Online Courses). BEAT Create LOs MOODLE (or other platforms) Share LOs Export LOs RESINT - Project General Meeting Bologna/Forlì 20th-21st May 2015 Silvio Olivastri

Page 5 CONCLUSIONS At the beginning of June, we will install the first release of BEAT used for the RESINT project, with a customized version of MOODLE. Our future prospects are testing both platforms, collecting users feedback and evaluating them. Platforms activation will be notified by .
