Please take out your journals and DO NOT TOUCH the juice. Instead, wait for instructions. Companies use descriptive language to help sell their products. Companies that sell food and drinks use the five senses to describe their products and to entice consumers to buy those products. Touch – Taste – Smell – Hear - See

 Today, you will write short descriptions of juices to try and sell your product. Each description should be from 1-3 sentences long and should use the senses to entice your consumers. Touch – Taste – Smell – Hear - See  What senses did you use in your description?

As the pale young woman crept through the thick forest in the dead of night, her body trembled and her blood ran cold. The pale blue moon shone above and lit her way as she slowly put one slippered foot before the other. Like a graceful gazelle, she glided through the trees. Her trepidation increased as she grew closer to her destination. Soon, she would see him; her forbidden love, forever waiting.

A young woman walked through a forest to in the middle of the night to meet the man that she loved, but wasn’t allowed to be with.

 On a fresh sheet of paper that you will hand it, write down the name of your favorite place.  Below that, write down the five senses, skipping 3 lines between each. Touch – Taste – Smell – Hear – See  Below each sense, write down at least five adjectives that describe your favorite place.

 Using imagery, write a free verse poem describing your favorite place.  The first line should be the name of the place. Your poem should be at least ten lines long.  In your poem, use each sense at least once.  After you have written your poem, copy it NICELY onto the top half a clean sheet of white paper and draw a picture of that place on the bottom half of the paper.
