Vocabulary 5 – Green Book: Genes: A Family Inheritance

Word 1: Genes Definition: A unit of a chromosome that determines a specific trait. Sentence: Mr. Olson received the gene for blue eyes from his father.

Word 2: Generations Definition: All of the people born and living at about the same time. Sentence: Mr. Olson’s generation didn’t have the internet while they were growing up.

Word 3: Environment Definition: The surroundings that a person lives within. Sentence: Living in a city environment is very stressful, unlike a rural environment that is quiet and clam.
