MY FIVE SENSES Teacher: Carlos García

Can you name your five senses? sight hearing smell taste touch

see colors. read books With our eyes we can… watch tv What do you see around you now?

Eye care

With our ears we can hear… bells ringing People singing babies crying Listen carefully now –what do you hear?

Can you name the sound you hear?

Sounds can make us feel …

Using your sense of hearing

Care for ears wear ear protection avoid loud noises have hearing checked

With our nose we smell… flowerssmoke garbage

Some smells remind us of things.

Most of your sense of taste is really about your sense of smell. Bloodhounds (dogs) smell at least 1000 times better than humans. As you get older, your sense of smell gets worse.

With our mouth we can taste… sweet bitter salty sour

Name the taste

Fish can taste with their fins and tail as well as their mouth. In general, girls have more tastebuds than boys.

With your skin you can feel… Wrinkled rugous

Your skin is your largest sense organ. There are about 100 touch receptors in each of your fingertips. Your sense of touch warns your brain that your body is in danger.

Protecting your sense of touch
