Supplemental Instruction

What is it? Student directed Q&A in a small group setting Meetings twice per week for 50 minutes to review lecture and lab material Activities and discussion to help grasp concepts

Why should I? Increased comprehension Ready-made study groups Less intimidating to ask questions! It’s free! Built in study time to review information Because you love your tutor and will have SO much fun!

What’s the catch? We do ask that you commit to regular attendance throughout the quarter. Groups with fewer than three attendees will have to be closed. You will need to fill out a tutee application (provided to you at the first group meeting)

Are there any alternatives? Your instructor’s office hours, of course! Yes, in fact. If you’re not interested in group study (but why wouldn’t you be??), individual tutors are also available for free in S43. If you are unable to attend at the listed times, but are very interested in group study, you can form your own study group. You will just be lacking a handy-dandy student instructor of your own.

How do I get in? Look at the schedule Decide what times work for you Sign up on the sheet Attend the first meeting in S-43 (Math and Science Tutorial Center) starting ___________.
