Reports on Resources Breakouts

Wed. 11am – noon - Openflow demo rehearsal - Show physical information. How easily deploy/configure OpenvSwitch to create a network slice? Could we have some way to simply add an another slice? – Trema provides a web interface. – Try to arrange multi-sites discussion with GENE group (Jim Williams) Try to expand – One more application VM – the number of sites Could we have another overlay technologies? Options should be chosen based on – Requirements, access rights, availability of hardware, etc.

Wed. 4:30-6:00 Agenda PRAGMA Cloud – How do we support users to create VM images? – How do we support users to boot VM images? – How do we support users to build virtual environments across sites (e.g. network overlay)? – What is the user’s scenario to use PRAGMA cloud? – What are the requirements for site admins?

Summary How to adapt the difference on configuration between Rocks and OpenNebula? – Have a configuration file to describe the necessary information Hostname, IP address, netmask, default gateway, broadcast address, dns server, gps location Next steps of bio vm (UCSD) – Fetch information from the configuration file – Run the same on EC2 Next steps for building virtual clusters – Do it on rocks (UCSD) – Provide scripts and documents for OpenNebula (AIST) Next steps for VM creation – AIST will test Ezilla (AIST, NCHC) Look for the application drivers other than AIST/UCSD/NCHC – HKU Lilian will check license issues – Habibah’s group and/or prime students (docking simulation)

Thu 11:15-12:15 Agenda & Summary PRAGMA Data Cloud – How Resources WG supports geosciences/telescience WG – First step Federation of catalogue search – GEO Grid (AIST), GeoPortal (IU), Environmental Informatorium (NECTEC) Figure out – Which data is able to be shared. – How to enable federated catalogue search. – How to protect/share data within a specific community » Use network overlay tech. Presentation – Live migration of VMs (JLU)
