Founded in 1992 Social enterprise: 3 business units  Commercial restaurant  Contract Kitchen  Catering W HO W E A RE FareStart provides a community that transforms lives by empowering homeless and disadvantaged men, women, and families to achieve self-sufficiency through life skills, job training and employment in the food service industry.

Provide 16 weeks of skill-based culinary training Up to 1 year of support services Individual case management Housing, food, transportation, mental health counseling, recovery support, and other services 100% cost free to students W HAT W E D O

W HAT W E T RAIN : E MPLOYABILITY Quantity cooking, prep work, restaurant line, catering Knife skills, food safety and sanitation Attention to detail Time & task management Maturity & responsibility

P HASE 1 ( OF 3) Weeks 1-5 Large batch cooking 2,500 meals per day for shelters and low- income daycares. 8am – 3pm (Monday – Friday)

P HASE 2 ( OF 3) Weeks 6-10 Retail kitchen prep Guest Chef Night each Thursday 1pm – 8pm (Sunday – Wednesday) 1pm – 11 pm (Thursday)
