What is PBS?  Process that builds an environment in which positive behavior is more effective for the student than problem behavior.  Provides a positive and effective alternative to the traditional methods of discipline.

What is PBS??  Emphasizes the use of preventive, teaching and reinforcement-based strategies to achieve meaningful and durable behavior and lifestyle outcomes.

What is PBS?  Relies on accurate and reliable discipline referral data to understand the behaviors occurring across campus.  Analysis of the data allows for identification of problem areas → brainstorm interventions such as where and what to teach, reward the students exhibiting the expected behavior, and communicate findings.

Critical Elements  Teaching students our Expectations and our Rules for Behavior.  Rewarding students when they meet or exceed our Expectations and follow our Rules.  Consistency in our school processes and procedures.  Use of data to identify problems and make intervention decision.
