info. of Shi da Bin: Shi Dabin was one of the most famous teapot artists during the Wanli period during, the Ming Dynasty ( ). He was a well-known in China in the seventeenth century. Shi Dabin was know as de the “Plain and Elegant” teapot artist at that time. Shi made great contributions in the improvement of many instruments associated with teapot manufacturing.

He also developed the process of the zisha (a method of firing pieces together in a large storage bin). Shi’s early works were done in the style of Gongchun. Later on he produced zisha pieces for decades. Teapots in shape’s of: anise, plum blossom, hexagon, shaman cap, and hood handle were all invented by him.

The next three slides are pictures of some pots that Shi Da Bin did. After those three, come another 3 that is about the “plain and elegancy” of the artist. Overview:

LOOP Handled teapot: The clay paste is in brown color. This pot is valued as the most perfect one of the excellent works made by Shi Da Bin.

Hexagonal Teapot: The body, the spout, the handle and the knob of the teapot are all hexagonal in shape. The whole form generates a simple and elegant feeling.

Post-shaped square teapot : The clay is yellow, and the pot is like a square post in shape. On one side of the pot is the wealth lasts for generations and in mounded official script. On the opposite side is a passage of inscription

The next slides demonstrates the backup of why people said that Shi Da Bin was a “plain and elegant” teapot artist.

I would decide to do this because it is plain and elegant. And it inspires me how he got so famous just doing that simple types of pots. This is an birds-eye-view, of a diferent pot in which is in form of a hexagon and it is also simple and elegance and unique.
