Temperate Forests By Griffin Mott Brandon Murray

Name of Biome Map showing the location of the biome on earth Climate diagram showing monthly temperatures and precipitation levels Major physical characteristics of the biome (soil, temperature and precipitation) Major plant life Examples of animals Other interesting information

Weather Patterns

Plants Large amounts of fungus used to break down the rotting plant material.

Characteristics of Temperate Forests Temperate forests, also called seasonal forests, grow between the tropics and the tundra. They mainly consist of oak and pine trees. Lush soil is found on the floor of this ecosystem, perfect for plants to grow in. The soil is made up of composted plant material so it is rich in nutrients.

Characteristics Cont. Precipitation depends on location of the forest. In mountains, it snows, in other places it rains. Mostly mild climate, seasonal so you notice changes in temperatures.
