University Entrance From 1 March 2014, University Entrance requirements are: NCEA Level 3 14 credits from achievement standards at Level 3+ in each of 3 approved subjectsapproved subjects 10 credits for numeracy, as for NCEA L1numeracy 10 credits for literacy at Level 2+literacy (5 credits in writing and 5 credits in reading)

StatisticsCalculus Mathematics WASHUP Student gains 8 credits in Calculus and 7 in Statistics. Insufficient to gain either Calculus or Statistics. The qualifications check will combine the credits to make 15 credits in Mathematics. = one approved UE subject.
CalculusStatistics Mathematics SPILLOVER The students gains 44 credits in the Maths domain credits in Calculus - 24 credits in Statistics. The qualifications check will redistribute the credits so the student gains 3 approved subjects Calculus – 14 credits Statistics – 14 credits Mathematics 16 credits Total: 44 credits The approved Mathematics subjects contains all the Calculus and Statistics standards.
