Minimum Qualification Requirements NSW School certificate or NSW School certificate or equivalent Note: Preference given to students who can demonstrate motivation & ability to study in an adult learning environment

Ultimo  The entire HSC will take at least TWO Years (this applies even if you have completed year 11)  Students may enrol in a maximum of three 2 unit subjects at the initial enrolment.  Extension 1 subjects can be added ‘extra’ to your total number of units.

Entry Requirements for English as a Second Language (ESL) May be studied by any student who has been educated overseas or in an Australian educational institution with English as the language of instruction for 5 years or less prior to commencing the Preliminary course.

ATAR Australian Tertiary Admission Rank The ATAR is a number between 0 and which provides a measure of your overall academic achievement in the HSC in relation to other students.   It is used by Universities for selection.   The ATAR is a RANK, not a MARK.

Limited ATAR Must be 20yrs old by 1 st March 2012 The Limited ATAR is calculated using  2 units of English and  the best 3 other units of Category A courses. This is a ONE year program ONLY (you may want to consider the TPC course) (you may want to consider the TPC course)

Prelim / HSC Year 10 leavers wishing to do Maths or Science are required to enrol into the corresponding Preliminary Course (4hrs/week during the Day only). Subjects vary from 4hrs per week to 8hrs per week. Check your timetable carefully so you do not miss a lesson.

Languages – available only for students enrolled in at least 1 HSC subject at Ultimo TAFE  OTEN (including other subjects)  Saturday School (Community Languages)  Open High School Additional application forms and FEES required

Fees $ 462 per year plus $30 sundry charge. Government benefit recipients: $53 Fee Exemptions: Students with a Disability Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander students Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander students REFUNDS: From 2008 Course fees were refunded by the NSW State Government to students when they have completed their HSC studies Note: Students are responsible for purchasing their own textbooks, writing materials and other equipment.

Writing Task Writing task should take 15mins to complete (make sure you include full contact details). Information desks Discuss subject choice with a teacher at one of the desks. Note: you cannot do English in the first year at Ultimo if you have just completed year 10 or equivalent.
