Overview 2 Project consists of 2 separate award specific modules The Professional Module:  a 15 Credit, 100% coursework, semester 1 module of either:  The Professional Engineer (CE )(CE )  The Professional Technologist (CE )(CE ) The Project Module:  a 30 Credit, 2 semester module of either:  CE BEng (Hons) Engineering Project CE  CE BSc (Hons) Applied Technology Project CE

Overview 7 Professional Module Milestones #2 FRI 11 th Jan Submit Initial Report  (approx 2500 words in main body)  Worth 60%  Report Contents Introduction Overview Literature Survey Progress Review  work so far, what left to do to complete Required Resources Appendices  Project Plan

Overview 8 Project Module Requirements You are required to meet with your chosen Supervisor for 20mins per week Discuss issues such as:  project plan  Difficulties & questions  what has been done since last meeting: such as outcomes of tasks & experiment results  Tasks to complete for next meeting  Tasks to complete for finishing the projects This should be recorded within your ‘Log Book’, this is your ‘project diary’ (marked in Professional Module)  It should include dates of project meetings  The log book can either be handwritten or using the preferred method of electronic recording  Remember that the log book is important so always keep some form of copy of its contents in case of loss

Overview 9 Project Module Milestones Submit final Project Report - Wed 23 rd April 2008  Including Supporting Discs Attend Graduate Exhibition. Bring Presentation CD - Fri 25 th April 2008 Attend Final Presentation & Interview. Not before 28 th April 2008

Overview 10 Submission of reports All assessed submissions are to be made at the reception and submissions desk on the second floor of the Octagon Building. The deadline for submission is on the appropriate day as advised. This is 3.30 p.m. This applies to all submissions for all modules in the faculty There may be special arrangements on 23 rd April 2008
