Do You Remember the Seven Dimensions of Wellness?

Are you making decisions to be WELL?

Remember: HEALTH VS. WELLNESS …… Being healthy is simply not being physically sick ….. Being healthy is simply not being physically sick ….. Wellness is a PROCESS of balancing 7 dimensions in a person ’ s life that will allow them to live a long life, feel happy with that life and be successful during that life! Wellness is a PROCESS of balancing 7 dimensions in a person ’ s life that will allow them to live a long life, feel happy with that life and be successful during that life!

Let ’ s quickly review our 7 dimensions of wellness ……

Social Wellness The process of making and keeping healthy RELATIONSHIPS with people in our lives.

Emotional Wellness The process of accepting yourself for who you are, sharing your feelings, maintaining a positive attitude, and keeping a high maintaining a positive attitude, and keeping a highself-esteem.

Physical Wellness The process of making choices to get in shape, be flexible, be fit, remain energetic and develop strong bodies. It is the decisions we make related to exercise, nutrition, rest and sleep, stress management, sexual activity, alcohol use and the abuse of drugs. be flexible, be fit, remain energetic and develop strong bodies. School/Career Wellness The process of making choices related to school/learning which might help you with your career/job someday.

Environmental Wellness The process of making choices which will contribute or improve the quality of our personal living space, neighborhood, community, and larger aspects of the earth including air, water, land.

Spiritual Wellness The process of discovering meaning and purpose in life and having values/beliefs that allow us to act in healthy ways.

If you are “ sick ” in each dimension of wellness ……. That usually results in very poor health and/or death!

All seven dimensions have to be “ healthy ” and balanced for you to be WELL!!!!!!

How do you know if you are well based on these seven dimensions?

Re-take the inventory, graph your results, and write a S.M.A.R.T. GOAL for each dimension that ’ ll remind you to be more WELL!
