PEAK by Roland Smith

About the Book: “Peak Marcello is arrested for scaling a New York City skyscraper, and he's left with two choices: wither away in Juvenile Detention or go live with his long-lost father, who runs a climbing company in Thailand. But Peak quickly learns that his father's renewed interest in him has strings attached. Big strings” (Roland Smith).

About Mt. Everest Mt. Everest is located on the border of Nepal and Tibet. Scientists estimate is was formed about 60 million years ago. It is the highest mountain in the world. In Nepal, it is called Sagarmatha, meaning goddess of the sky. In Tibet, it is named Chomolungma, meaning mother goddess of the universe. It is elevated over 29,000 ft. above sea level.

While in college studying to become a writer, Smith landed a job at a local zoo, which resulted in a successful career in zoology.
