Why Climb?  It’s awesome!  It’s fun!  It’s a GREAT way to get in shape and have a blast!  It’s social and an excellent way to meet like-minded people 

What will we do in the MRHS Climbing Club?  The club will run for 7 consecutive weeks  Every week we will depart from campus at 2:45 and arrive at the gym about 3 PM  The first 30 minutes to 45 minutes will be a skill based clinic for the first 6 weeks The first two classes will consist of the Learning to Climb 101 curriculum  Students will be taking their Belay Certification tests at the gym during either the second or third session  Sessions 3 through 6 will be technique and skill- based  The last session will be a fun competition between teams…there will be prizes and winners!

Why is there a $255 fee?  Includes: 3 months of unlimited climbing (both with MRHS and on your own time!) Free rentals while you are WITH the MRHS climbing club during scheduled sessions ○ (Rentals additional for shoes/harness/chalk if you come on your own) Private Climbing Instructor to work with the Club for all seven sessions Special equipment setup for the final session on April 10 th

What will I learn? You will learn how to tie basic knots, how to wear and safety check a harness, and how to belay during the first two sessions  Clinics for the following sessions will include footwork, handwork, how to build climbing endurance and strength, dynamic movement on a wall and much more!!!  You will be getting plenty of one-on-one and small group instruction with personalized feedback to help you learn to move in the vertical world  There will be TONS of time for climbing and hanging too!

Important Dates  Feb. 3 rd (Monday) Registration forms due  Feb. 5 th (Wednesday) Selected students will be announced (there are only 12 spots)  Feb. 7 th (Friday) Minimum deposit of $100 due (Checks made payable to Maria Regina High School…with “Climbing Club” written on memo line) Online waivers and hard-copy waivers due  Feb. 19 th (Wednesday) Total balance due Failure to pay balance in full may result in your spot being forfeit and given to the next student  Feb. 27 th (Thursday) First session! Bus leaves at 2:45
