Mission of the Biology Club: “To promote interest in the field of Biology and to introduce members to individuals in the fields of research, medicine and related careers, dentistry, and education.”
Mission: We are committed to bettering our university, building relationships within our community, and expanding our knowledge of biological sciences. Our organization mentors students and helps provide the connections and resources to help members achieve their goals.
Membership: Dues are $15 per year or $10 per semester, payable at meetings or dropped into the Club’s mailbox in the SSCB building (Student Life Office, Box 12). Final day for collection of dues will be Friday, October 9, 2009.
Earn Your Club Honor Cords! Honor Cords will be given to members when they earn 100 points by participating in club activities. It will be each members responsibility to keep track of their own points and present them to the President and Vice President before graduation.
Point System: Become an official member10 Attend a meeting10 Bring a friend to a meeting (that becomes a 5 paid member) Bring a food item to a meeting5-15* Attend an approved field trip20 Find a guest speaker30 Approved special event idea30 Help at a table/fundraiser event5/hr Provide transportation to other members to approved 2/member events Complete a month of routine volunteering15 Become an officer20 *Allocation of points is determined by president and vice president.

Volunteer Hours: Each member will be responsible for recording their own volunteer hours which will go toward earning honor cords. Volunteer hours will be verified by the president and vice president. Members applying for graduate programs, medical schools, dental schools, etc. are expected to participate in volunteer opportunities.
