4 Setting COG Configuration Access the COG Configuration screen from the DMI-Services drop-down menu by selecting: DMI-Services ► Administration ► COG Configuration

6 Operator Profiles (Add a New Operator)

7 1.Select Operator Profile from the Administration menu, located in the DMI-Services menu. The Operator Profile screen appears. 2.Click the New button or select New from the File menu. 3.Enter the name and address of the operator you are adding in the appropriate fields. 4.Assign an Operator ID that conforms to the strong password guidelines 5.To enter contact information, such as telephone number, or FAX number, click the Add button to create an entry in the Contact Information table. Select the type of number from the drop down menu (such as home telephone, FAX, pager, etc.) in the Type column and enter the number in the Value column. 6.Assign privileges to the operator. 7.To allow the operator to access sensitive data in the TIE application, select the Sensitive Data Access check box for TIE. 8.To make the operator a point of contact for the COG, select the Display as Point of Contact check box. A COG may have multiple POCs. 9.To activate the operator, select the Operator Activated checkbox. 10.To save the changes, select Save from the File menu, or click the Save button. 11.To close the Operator Profile screen, select Exit from the File menu or click the Close button.

8 To assign a role to an operator: 1.Make sure that the correct operator is selected in the list of operators in the left pane. 2.Select the radio button that corresponds to the appropriate role for the application. 3.Select the radio button that corresponds to the appropriate role for the sub-application (if available). The Roles/Privileges list is a hierarchy. You must assign the role to the higher application level before selecting roles at the sub-application level. To assign a role to an operator: 1.Make sure that the correct operator is selected in the list of operators in the left pane. 2.Select the radio button that corresponds to the appropriate role for the application. 3.Select the radio button that corresponds to the appropriate role for the sub-application (if available). The Roles/Privileges list is a hierarchy. You must assign the role to the higher application level before selecting roles at the sub-application level. 9 1.Select Operator Profile from the Administration menu. The Operator Profile screen opens. 2.Select the name of the Operator whose profile you wish to edit. 3.Modify the data as necessary in the fields provided. 4.If the Operator will be a point of contact for the COG, select the Display as COG Point-Of- Contact checkbox. 5.Select Save from the File menu or click the Save icon. 6.If you move to another Operator's Profile without saving your changes, the Confirm Operator Selection message opens. 7.Click Yes if you want to disregard your changes. Click No if you want to reverse your changes. Click Cancel to return to the Operator Profile screen. Operator Profiles (Modify an Operator Profile)

10 Operator Profile (Changing a Users Password) You can change a users password using the Operator Profile screen. Passwords should be changed at least every 90 days. DMIS uses strong passwords per Department of Homeland Security policy. Passwords must be a minimum of 9 characters and a maximum of 20 characters. They must have at least one upper case character, one numeric character, and one special character. Passwords cannot consist solely of periods, spaces or sign. Passwords cannot have leading or trailing periods or spaces. Jomyrg1%n is an example of a valid strong password. The following special characters cannot be used: A leading space A trailing space #, “ \ < > ; Note: Your new password may not become active immediately. If you enter a new password and it is not active after 10 minutes, please notify the DMI-Services help desk at You can change a users password using the Operator Profile screen.
