CHANGES FOR THE COMPETITION Chapter Sustainability Criteria –Chapter Website A chapter must maintain a minimum of one page with the Chapter Logo, Chapter contact information, and a link to the IMA National homepage. All information should be kept up-to-date. Recommended quarterly updates be maintained at minimum. Chapter Administration –Required Documentation to receive compensation Annual Financial Report with copy of required 990 – Due November 30, 2009 Annual Transmittal Form – Due April 30,2010 Professional Education –CMA Self-Study Courses Chapters can no longer earn CPE credit for members who take CMA Self-Study courses

NEW CHANGES FOR THE CHAPTER COMPETITION Annual Transmittal Form –Electives The chapter’s strategic plan, monthly board meeting, budget and other administrative areas are now electives. However, chapters are strongly encouraged to continue these basic functions to ensure that good organizational practices continue.

IMA Chapter Recognition Advisory Committee Member Services – Outreach & Achievement 1.Publish six publicity items to promote chapter events, IMA, or member achievements 2.Publish additional six publicity items as noted above 3.Publish an annual chapter program book of events or chapter roster 4.Provide an IMA/CMA promotional mailing to potential members / organizations 5.Sponsor a student night/event – dedicated chapter meeting 6.Sponsor a student chapter 7.Sponsor an IMA booth at a local job fair or other event 8.Provide formal mentoring opportunities to another chapter or for board members 9.Make a guest presentation in a classroom 10.Make a corporate IMA visit to a company with membership and certification potential 11.Co-sponsor a learning session with a corporation 12.Organize and participate in a plant tour facilitated by a member of finance 13.Participate in a charitable event utilizing accounting skills 19

IMA Chapter Recognition Advisory Committee Member Services – Leadership 1.Develop a written annual plan that aligns with National's strategic plan 2.Prepare an annual budget 3.Hold regularly scheduled board meetings - no less than four per year 4.Hold a Chapter Management Seminar (CMS) session 5.Publish four informational communications to board or chapter members; 8 for the year 6.Publish four informational communications to board or chapter members; 12 for the year 7.Have chapter member serve on a National Committee or National Board of Directors 8.Provide support for a Regional IMA activity 9.Attend at least two council meetings 10.Two board members attend Council's Spring Leadership Training Seminar (LTS) 11.Attend two Volunteer Leaders Conference Calls 12.Submit a manuscript to Strategic Finance, Management Accounting Quarterly, etc. 13.Submit best practices ideas that can be shared with other chapters 14.More than 5 active board members 20

NEW CHAPTER REPORTING CALENDAR July 31, Last Day to Opt out of Chapter Competition November 30, 2009 –Chapter Financial Report for previous fiscal year –Form 990/990T/ 990 (required by IRS) February 26, 2010 –Chapter Board of Directors Nominations March 31, 2010 –Website submitted for chapter award consideration. –Manuscripts for Lybrand Medal consideration –Public Relations Report for chapter award consideration –Community Service Report for chapter award consideration –Newsletters for chapter award consideration If a Chapter has hardship with any of the below deadlines or CPE entry, please contact your National Community Support Specialist for assistance or extension options.
