Events & Activities Reporting Database Training ATTC National Office Week of March 2009

A “One Stop Shop” for all of your Reporting Data Entry Needs (except GPRA)  NIDA Blending Initiative: takes the place of the old dissemination tracking system (see  CSAT Biannual Report: takes the place of the old ATTC Activities database (see  National Evaluation: instead of a separate data entry system for the external evaluation, the National Evaluation Team has agreed to incorporate their questions into this system

Log into the Administration Web site Each Regional Center has a unique password.

Entering Event Information AFTER the Event Occurs

A self-paced event has a flexible schedule; a participant does the work when he/she has time available. “Hosting State/Territory” refers to the state in which the event physically took place Note About Hitting the “Continue” Button: Hitting “Continue” is equivalent to hitting a “save” button. Everything you entered up until the point you hit “continue” will be saved in the database. If you must leave your work at that point, you will not need to re-enter your data. Simply go to the “View & Edit Event Information” link on the Main Menu, find the event, and continue entering information where you left off.

NIDA Blending Events & Activities

Pre-Blending Product Training/Infrastructure Development/Foundational Activity Events & Activities that your Regional Center holds PRIOR to doing an *OFFICIAL* Blending Product training.

Official Blending Product Training *OFFICIAL* Blending Product trainings: The trainings approved by NIDA delivered as written in the approved time frame. See for more information.

Post-Blending Product Training/Follow-up Activities Events & Activities that your Regional Center Holds AFTER doing an *OFFICIAL* Blending Product training.

Meeting: A formally arranged gathering where two or more people come together for the purpose of discussing a predetermined topic. For example, the ATTC Network holds three Directors meetings per year. Assessment: The process of documenting, usually in measurable terms, knowledge, skills, attitudes and beliefs. For example, a survey assessing training needs. Educational Event: Programs are considered "educational" if they are planned learning experiences designed to bring about changes in knowledge, skills, or attitudes. Educational events include both continuing education training and academic courses. For example, one ATTC offers various educational events that provide instruction to participants on the use of motivational interviewing. Formal Presentation: Similar to a speech, a presentation is some kind of talk to an audience. Multimedia audiovisual aids are often used. For example, Dr. Clark gave a formal presentation about the NIDA/SAMHSA-ATTC Blending Initiative to attendees of the NASADAD conference. Conference: A gathering of particular individuals invited to consult with, discuss and/or present information on a particular topic or set of topics in a related field or subject for the purpose of bettering relations and information exchange between the organizations/markets the individuals represent. For example, the location of NAADAC’s annual conference changes each year. Brief Technical Assistance: A jointly planned consultation or series of contacts lasting fewer than three hours in which the ATTC provides expertise and gives direction to assist in resolving a problem or improving conditions. Examples include a series of brief conference calls with a certification board to help revise certification standards, or a one time consultation with a treatment agency to help them address recruitment issues. Technical Assistance: A jointly planned consultation generally involving a series of contacts between the ATTC and an outside organization/institution. During the consultation the ATTC provides expertise and gives direction toward resolving a problem or improving conditions. This may be a time-limited consultation or an ongoing series of consultations.

CTN Nodes: NIDA Clinical Trial Nodes are the Regional Research and Training Centers ( RRTCs) which are linked with five or more Community-based Treatment programs (CTPs). Currently there are 16 Nodes. SSA: Single State Agency—sometimes the director of the Single State Agency is referred to as the SSA. Community Treatment Program: Providers of alcohol and drug treatment services that are generally licensed/certified, or otherwise approved by their state. For example, The Salvation Army; New Directions Treatment Center. Counselor Association: State and National organizations that focus on issues pertinent to the addictions workforce. For example, NAADAC and/or its state affiliates; IC&RC Boards. Provider Association: State and National organizations that focus on issues pertinent to publicly funded and private alcoholism and drug dependency treatment programs. For example, SAAS; NAATP and their state affiliates. Recovery Community Organization: Organization comprised of and led by recovery community members for the purpose of providing peer-to-peer recovery support services. Note that others who are not in recovery (faith-based groups, treatment providers) may also provide recovery support services, and what differentiates RCOs is that the services are designed and delivered by people in recovery (peers). For example, Circles of Recovery, Colorado Springs, Colorado; Central City Concern, Portland, Oregon. Collaborating Partners Defined

3 **Note: Number of Participants per state must be equal or less than the total number of participants**

The National Evaluation Team hopes to track what materials/products are being used in conjunction with ATTC events. We need to know how many different materials/products were used or disseminated during the event so that we can ask you to provide details about each item on the following page. NOTE: We are not asking you for the total number of materials distributed; rather, we want to know how many TYPES of materials were distributed. For example, if you used TAP 21, the ATTC Best Practices Curriculum and an issue of the ATTC Networker during the event, then you would indicate that you used three (3) types of materials. For each material, we will then ask you on the next page to choose/fill in the source of the material, and whether or not cultural adaptations were made. The intent of this information is to determine the degree to which peer-reviewed materials are being used, how much cross-Network sharing of materials is occurring, and what efforts are being made to culturally adapt materials when applicable.

The number of types of materials you indicated on the previous screen determines the number of fields that display on this page.

Last, but not least … Please only choose the keywords that describe the main points covered in the event. Please try to limit keywords to no more than three. For example, if you are inputting data for a clinical supervision training, then you might choose the keywords “clinical supervision” and “training and skill development”. If the training mentions HIV/AIDS, but is not really focused on that topic, please do NOT choose “HIV/AIDS” as a keyword.
