Tilapia Lab 1- Behavior Book – The Living Ocean pp Do Procedure – option 1, then fill out Table 9-3 on your own paper. Answer questions for Option 1 with complete sentences. When finished, Read pp. 62 – 86.

Tilapia Lab 2 - Dissection This lab will count as TWO daily grades: You will be making a series of sketches to turn in for ONE grade on this lab. Your CONDUCT and CLEANUP will count as a SECOND grade. FILETS ARE OPTIONAL. Using Table 8-1 on pg. 89 as a reference, you will be completing drawings 1 & 2, and sketches 1-7. After completing Drawing # 1, you may A) filet the fish if the wish, (with the filet knife provided) or B) follow the instructions in your textbook with a scalpel. DO NOT COOK YOUR TILAPIA IF YOU USED THE SCALPEL TO CUT IT OPEN. If you have a tilapia in your tank > 5 inches in length, now is the time to dispose of it! You will have the opportunity to get more fish tomorrow and after Thanksgiving Break.

Tilapia Lab 3 - Debriefing Let’s face it – there was simply NOT enough TIME for this lab – especially to do the drawings AND cut open the fish. SOOO…. Your Written portion of this exercise may take either one or a combination of several forms. 1)Pictures annotated, then placed in a powerpoint and then placed into my dropbox; 2)Actual Life Sketches on paper with labels; OR 3)An essay describing A) what your group did in detail; B) what you discovered about the fish; C) why these fish had to be taken out; D) how you felt about the lab; and E) how this may effect you in your future food choices. Whatever you do, is due on MONDAY, November 28.
