CTAP 295 Teaching with Technology Copyright © CTAP Online—Butte County Office of Education Lesson Implementation and Evaluation Excel Excel spreadsheet software makes it easy to enter and analyze student data. Statistical formulas turn your numbers into meaningful averages, sums, maximums and more. Auto-fill functions allow you to enter a formula once, then quickly copy it to other data cells.

CTAP 295 Teaching with Technology Copyright © CTAP Online—Butte County Office of Education Lesson Implementation and Evaluation Excel One of Excel’s most useful features for teachers is its ability to quickly create charts and graphs from your student data. Being able to actually see your data makes it easier to draw meaningful conclusions about the effectiveness of your lesson. Bar ChartCorrelation Chart

CTAP 295 Teaching with Technology Copyright © CTAP Online—Butte County Office of Education Lesson Implementation and Evaluation PowerPoint Microsoft’s PowerPoint is an easy-to-use program for creating engaging presentations. You can use it to integrate images, sounds, movies, animations and text. This presentation was created using PowerPoint.

CTAP 295 Teaching with Technology Copyright © CTAP Online—Butte County Office of Education Lesson Implementation and Evaluation PowerPoint Near the end of Module 7, you’ll use PowerPoint to create a presentation summarizing your lesson plan. This presentation will describe your lesson plan and its effectiveness, actual student performance, and how other teachers can implement your lesson in their classrooms. You’ll present your culminating presentation to your fellow CTAP 295 participants in Module 9.

CTAP 295 Teaching with Technology Copyright © CTAP Online—Butte County Office of Education Lesson Implementation and Evaluation PowerPoint A PowerPoint presentation is also a valuable tool for engaging students before you begin your lesson. Teachers wishing to create a lesson plan presentation for their students are encouraged to do so. You’ll have the knowledge you need to create this presentation after the first face-to-face meeting of Module 7.

CTAP 295 Teaching with Technology Copyright © CTAP Online—Butte County Office of Education Lesson Implementation and Evaluation Module 7 Conclusion After you begin working on your culminating PowerPoint presentation at the conclusion of Module 7, it’s time to start Module 8. In Module 8, you’ll begin revising your lesson based on teaching experience and student performance data.
