LMHEP Work Programme 12/13 Executive Group has developed and launched a series of resources Resources designed to support effective planning and service delivery to benefit local communities Aim to ensure that a clear focus is placed on the delivery of the NHS core business during the transition Resources: Case for Action; JSNA Guidance; engagement model for NHS/ Work Programme partnership arrangements

Case for Action (June 2012) Work, mental health and welfare: the case for coordinated action to achieve shared benefit Business case for investment and the evidence base for effective interventions that - create healthy workplaces - support work retention - provide routes into work for people traditionally excluded by their condition Adopts a “high level” systematic approach to the key issues and makes the case to the key target audiences: CCGs; HWBs; large employers; and SMEs

JSNA Guidance (Sept 2012) Incorporating mental health and employment in your joint strategic needs assessment and health & wellbeing strategy Highlights the importance of the issues to CCGs, HWBs, Adult Social Services and other partners responsible for public health and delivering personalised responses Provides an approach to identifying local needs and assets with a view to influencing commissioning decisions and partnership action Offers a comprehensive range of resources that are already being used locally (i.e. Westminster)

NHS/Work Programme Partnerships Executive Group held a strategic dialogue with the prime contractors Focus on how best to support the mental health needs of unemployed people on the work programme Workstream and East London subgroup led by Dr Haren Patel, Joint Chair, City & Hackney CCG Engagement model now been endorsed by Executive Group and pilot arrangements are about to be piloted in Newham
